Dr. Laura Smith offers veterinary telemedicine for active and in good-standing clients and patients of MRMVS. Telemedicine is not meant to replace in-person visits, but offers a way for Dr. Smith to provide remote veterinary advice, consults, and medical recommendations for our patients between routine wellness visits, for rechecks, and/or help determine if patient needs in-person medical attention/treatments. A summary of each visit will be written up and emailed through patient’s medical record.
To ensure compliance with NC laws, a valid VCPR (veterinary-client-patient-relationship) is required. This means an in-person physical exam has been performed within one year of the telemedicine appointment. For the appointment, the client must be able to utilize video call such as FaceTime, Zoom, or Facebook.
