welcomeMaple Ridge Mobile Veterinary Services, PLLC, is owned by Laura Gregorski Smith, DVM, and managed by her husband, Nathan Smith. As a team, Laura and Nate are committed to providing exceptional, compassionate veterinary care, attention to detail, and down-to-earth, professional customer service.

Laura graduated from NC State University in 2012 with a double major in Animal and Poultry Science. In 2016, Laura graduated NC State College of Veterinary Medicine with a focus in equine medicine. Laura has worked with numerous well-known specialty and private practice veterinarians and farriers, all of which has helped shape the way she practices veterinary medicine. Laura enjoys all aspects of equine veterinary medicine, but she is particularly interested in preventative and performance horse medicine. Laura enjoys veterinary medicine as a whole, though, including all species and public health. Laura is committed to a lifetime of learning and sharing her passion and knowledge with her clients and patients.

Laura is a North Carolina native. She was born in Raleigh, NC, and has lived in the Johnston county area since 2002. Laura has been involved in the equine industry for over 20 years. She grew up riding hunter/jumpers, dabbled in dressage, and started reining over 10 years ago. Laura enjoys showing and pleasure riding. For the past 12 years, Laura has managed a full-service equine facility, Maple Ridge Farm, in Kenly, NC, where she has taught English and Western lessons, boarded horses, and offered training and other horse-related services. Laura loves learning, teaching, and sharing her passion of horses and riding with others. Laura and Nate remain very active managing Maple Ridge Farm today.

Nathan Smith is also a NC native. He was born and raised in Charlotte, NC. Nate developed a passion for horses at an early age and pursued his natural talents with horses while training with Laura. Nate has a natural gift for riding, training, and teaching. Not only is Nate a talented horseman, but he is also a very talented businessman. After graduating from Wingate University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Marketing, Nate began work for Stanley Black & Decker, the world’s largest hand and power tool manufacturer, covering three states traveling between trade shows and end-users ranging from nuclear fuel, automotive, and industrial manufacturing to military bases and aerospace engineering. From there he transitioned into industrial distribution sales where he continued to supply industrial end-users with tools and safety equipment. The experience acquired through traveling and sales proves invaluable for all back-office processes, books, and inventory. Nate has exceptional client relation skills, is a master problem-solver, and is very organized.
